What do I use my Tomtom one’s memory card slot for? other features? can it measure walking distance?
I just got a Tomtom one yesterday ($155 at Toys R Us) and this is my first ever GPS device. I see that it has a memory card slot but I don’t know what it is to be used for.
I probably don’t know a lot of functions that it has so feel free to respond about other useful features. I know that I can look up a business such as Costco, but can I set it to alert me anytime there is a Costco within say 3 miles?
If I’m driving to and from work which is a route I know like the back of my hand, is there any reason to keep it on during my normal commute? I don’t have the traffic upgrade so don’t bother suggesting that as a reason.
I look forward to using it a lot when I travel to other cities but I’m trying to figure out what it can do for me when driving in areas I already know.
Can I jog with it and track the distance I have gone? There is a large park near me and I’d like to know what the loop (not straight line) distance is as it is not along streets. How do I do that?
I bought a Garmin GPS 2610 for my car and I don’t do CO$TCO or toyzs R us , Garmin I heard makes the Best since they are in the Industrial Electronics for Marine, hand helds, Cell Phones, and I think Avaition as well weather the card is SD, CF or something you may want to look at their site,
