living in Adelaide, SA – Do I need to know?
We apply for migration planning and Adelaide. We have four children May-November year. I would appreciate any input on the following points: 1. Please share what are good places / suburbs to raise children, preferably accessible to transportation and schools (to make it easier, as we have 4 kids and perhaps purchase a car is not an option at first). We think of at least one area of the middle class. 2. Churches nearby would be a big plus, we are Catholics. 3. My husband and I are visiting next month and will remain there for about a week. What are the things we recommend you check (with a view to settle in the future rather than simply doing the "tourist" stuff). A big thank you!
Hello There are many great places to live in Adelaide with the children, it is very suitable for children. A couple of suggestions with plenty of public transport available include Lockleys, Aberfoyle Park or area Hallett Cove. These are beautiful upper middle suburbs biggish houses and numerous parks, schools, shops etc and not too far from town. View or www.domain.com.au www.realestate.com.au for goods and commuter information. Www.adelaidemetro.com.au to see the bus schedule. I can not tell you much about the churches in the area I am not Catholic, but I'm sure there's at least one in each district. There are Catholic schools without doubt. I just want to travel around while you're here, looking different areas of Adelaide – shops, schools, etc. I would avoid the extreme north or south, but otherwise you could live anywhere where. You might also look into the Adelaide hills – that's where I live – they are cooler and wetter, more leaves / rural, but a little further on eg Mt Barker. Yet many facilities, but not quite as much transportation. Good luck and have fun
