Accidental Bay Bridge Toll/Carpool/Bus lane violation- Will I be fined?
I accidentally drove through the bus lane and through the fasttrack lane on the I-80 E. I was on the far right lane, which was separated from the rest of the lanes of the toll bridge this afternoon around 2 pm.
I was actually trying to avoid the bridge altogether when I thought I saw an exit to a street. To my dismay, it was actually a bus lane that funneled me into the fasttrack lane and it was then that I knew I was at the point of no return.
I was driving in a company van so I’m really not looking forward to my boss receiving a picture and a fine in the mail. I’m equally not looking forward to having to think about, explain, or discuss this to anyone again.
My best hope is that I will only be fined for the toll violation and not receive the huge bus/carpool lane fine, which I think was upwards of $300. Does anyone know if they use cameras to enforce the bus lane/carpool lane violations?
hi, i think you’ll be capture on their cameras since you were at or near the exit to a street. that’s where they place enforcing cameras, on bridges and exits. so you’re looking at a double offense of toll violation and bus & carpool lane violation.
