Would you ride a century? Cycling for 100 miles can be a daunting task but with the right training and preparation to complete your first century is more than feasible.
The order to successfully mount a century
The most important aspect of biking for 100 miles is to have a formal training program or schedule. Too often, riders that I speak too simply believe that going out and riding as much as possible is the best way to get in shape for a round century. Naturally, there is some truth in that district, however, simply by as much as possible as often you slowly wear and increase the chances of injury.
A decent training plan first help you get the maximum benefit hours you put in the saddle. Many runners, I have actually helped reduce the number of miles they ride (often around 25%) and increased their fitness and speed around the same figure. The key to making improvements like this is structured and varied training and workouts knowing exactly when and how hard to push your body.
Over 100 miles a few percent performance improvement here and there can make a huge difference. A good training program will seek to obtain benefits small batches of different sectors including bike set up on Cycling Nutrition, nutrition, bike training schedule, the selection of recovery kit. A 5% improvement in all these areas give an overall improvement that will significantly improve the performance of your age.
