What makes a good commuter bike 10 miles a day?
I plan on going green and saving money, and and riding instead of driving to work (5 miles each way). I want a good commuter bike used, preferably a road bike or hybrid. All Makes you want to suggest? What about a new bike commuter under $ 500? What type of maintenance I'd have to do on the bike?
If you are traveling on the roads, I would say a road bike specialist. These can be expensive, but older ones used could cost about $ 500. If you ride on tracks like me, you should buy a nice new bike giant, not a great brand, but some 495 dollars. For my 15 mile commute I Orca road bike, but you probably do not want to spend such money. Hope comes to help you!
