What is the public transportation like in Madison, WI?
I’ll be attending graduate school in the fall at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. I do not have a car, and am curious as to how the mass transit works in the city. I won’t be buying a car right away, so any information shared would be most helpful. BTW – someone already shared that people in Madison bike a lot, so I’m considering that, as well.
Metro Transit is the local bus service in Madison – they run a good operation (except when bogged down by snow. At the first link is a list of popular destinations and the routes that serve them. At the second link is their trip planner to figure out a route from where you are going to live to school.
When the weather is OK, it seems like everyone in Madison rides bikes – more information on bicycling at the 3rd link below.
