The town of Fowey – Cornwall is located in South Cornwall in England. The town is a civil parish as well as a port that serves the River Fowey. The 2001 census shows the town has a population of over 2,200 people.

It is an amazing experience to cross the river, as you will see the beauty of the place. The local ferry service is busy during holidays, especially on Easter. The Water Taxi service operates a foot ferry to Mevagissey.Mevagissey is a village that depends on fishing. Ferry services are available between May and October. The weather is fine during this period, but the ferries can be travelled if the weather gets worse.

Fowey used to have a railway station but it closed down in 1965.However, travellers can board a train at the Par Railway Station.Here, you will find train services to places like Bristol, Plymouth, London Paddington, Newquay and Penzance. There is a branch line that caters for goods trains between the Fowey station and Lostwithiel.The goods trains along this line carry china clay to Carne Point.
