car sharing technology
I have new new design of constant velocity universal joint ,I need a financial support to it?

The new suggested theoritical design can reach an angle of inclination between the two shafts more than 100 degrees (+50,-50)with no sliding parts in it .
It can withstad axial forces with true constant velocity transmitted through it
This joint is very effective in front wheel car drive due to its high oparation life and its high angle of inclination make the car steering in an arc of smaller radius
The maximum angle of deflection in use today is 90 degrees with sliding parts (not practical)
I need a financial support to my theoritical suggested design to put it in a patentable form and to apply it in industry
I have no objection that the financial side share me all the rights of the patent or he may have any other suggestion concerning his support
I am KHALID A. NASSIR a lecturer in an institute of technology
I have M.Sc.,B.Sc. degree in applied mechanical engineering since 1985
I spent more than seven years of hard work to reach my design

Khalid, I admire your perseverance and ingenuity. You haven’t mentioned a budget, but it sounds like a project that would cost less than $1M. That’s not VC range.

If you are in the US, you might want to look into an SBIR grant. This is free or cheap money from the US government for doing applied research. Your project sounds like it could fit their program, and it sounds like you already have experience writing grant proposals. I don’t know much more about SBIR grants, but you can probably get more info from the US Small Business Administration.

Aside from that, you are probably looking at friends and family funding. You probably will need to form a corporation, and then you would sell stock to people who already know you. Consult a corporate attorney to set this up.

There might be some possibility of getting corporate funding, but that might present more trouble than it is worth.

As soon as possible, you probably should file at least an informal provisional patent application. This should cost about $2,000 or less. It could help you in your fundraising efforts, might protect you from someone stealing your ideas, and also might prevent your ideas from falling into the public domain.

Good luck! -Steve
