carpool houston
What is it with the speeding on the Texas freeways? Is it really neccesary?

I always notice that people in Houston, Texas are always speeding on there way to work and on there way from work and they are going well above the 65(at least 80 or 90) speed limit on the freeways and the 40-45 on the streets. I have heard all this crap like oh well I need to get to work on time. Yeah okay that is good but then other than construction and rush hour traffic another reason for the traffic is that motorists in Texas are traveling at least 90 miles an hour on the freeways. They are going traveling to work and it is around 7:00 am and then you have a few other cars around and ahead of them going 60 or 65. Then all of a sudden the car in front stops and then it causes them to rear end the other person because the person in the back car was tailgating, a common thing in Texas. First of all, there is nothing much that can be done about morning rush hour. If you are going to be late to work then maybe leave the house earlier or take the bus so you can use the carpool lane?

Is a waste of time worrying about people speeding because they will do it anyway. They will do it until they are caught and then they will think twice about doing it again.

What you have to do is to make sure that you are driving within the speed limit.

Another thing, one ought to be drive a car length for each 10kph. If one is driving at 60 they the other car should be about 6 car length behind. That way no one will tail-gait you. My insurance agent told me that if you ran into the back of a car you are driving too close behind it and I live by that.
