California – selling a hybrid with carpool lane stickers?
I moved out of state and reflection on the sale of my car, that carpool lane stickers. (The state no longer issuing these stickers). I heard stories and found a new history that some people are willing to pay a few thousand more for a car with those stickers – has anyone experienced this? How much should I ask? Will I get value even if I have my car in trade to a dealer, or would it be better to sell it? On that note – I have never sold a car – what is the best way? A website to use? Signs somehow the window does not appear to be the best for me. If you read again, thank you! FYI – I am going to graduate in a great public transportation, plus my boyfriend has his car – just seems like a good way to save money. The stickers are definitely transferable to a new owner, even if they are not rare now no new stickers are issued because the state has reached its limit, so anyone who buys a new hybrid can not get stickers.
I heard the same thing that some ppl had to pay a premium for hybrid vehicles with stickers, I do not know if it's true. Generally, you get your best price for private sale. But if you need a car where you go why not cars? Buying another car is a pain.
