If you get a carpool ticket and you go to court and plead not guilty.?
Then you go back again to contest it and the cop shows up and they find you still guilty. If you let the judge send the ticket to collections does it only mess up your credit or does your license get suspended also if you don’t pay it? I live in california and got it in oakland.

Three things will happen if you don’t pay the fine. First the court will issue an arrest warrant for you. Second the court will suspend your drivers license. Third it will be sent to collections who will garnish your wages, tax return, savings / checking accounts, etc.
It isn’t worth it to prove a point. Go tell them you will make payments and then pay whatever you agree upon with the court.
