Does anyone else think this is pushing it a little?
I just came accross this web site http://www.right-to-ride.org/ . It’s an entire organization devoted to the goal of getting pregnant women the right to ride in the carpool lane! I admit, I think once the child is born it should count as a passenger so we can all ride in the carpool lane but come on, while you’re pregnant? Isn’t that going a little too far??? What do you think?
Pregnancy isn’t a handicap…and people who make up sites like these are playing up the fact that MANY pregnant women act as if they are disabled…or, at the very least, are dramatic about what they *think* they should be entitled to, just because of their pregnancies.
I drove 120 miles a day, 5 days a week during my ENTIRE pregnancy, in regular lanes of traffic, no less. I never expected any special privileges just because there was a baby in my belly. I chose to forgo the “Stork Parking” at work, knowing that the longer walk from a farther spot would probably do me more good than harm. It wasn’t as if I had caught a disease…I did just fine keeping my daughter safe in utero through common sense.
