It is a common problem – too much to do and not enough time to do so. How can you ensure the most is each day? The answer lies in prioritizing, organizing and tracking your time and to-dos with a weekly schedule.

Are you building on a series of sticky notes and reminders scribbled on the backs of recipes to keep you organized each week? If yes, you're in the same boat as thousands of others, but there are better ways to effectively manage your time and make sure you do not miss a thing – and Time Left more for a little fun.

Prioritize

Today you need to take dry cleaning and prescriptions, pick up some groceries and get that new book you're dying to read – and is increasingly recovered from children and various practices, cook dinner, help with homework and, oh yeah – get to work. How will you get it all done? First priority to things you have to do. Other than going to work, what else should really be done? Do you really need dry cleaning and prescriptions today? If so, add them to your must-do list. Obviously children need to get to their activities, but there alternatives to car pool? And this book. Did you really get it today? Probably not. If there are things that you can move to another day of the week, by all means do so. Or, if there are things you want makes you a special day, but not essential, try to add at the bottom of list for that day. Mark each key with a star or another brand and then tackle first.

Organize your tasks

Relying on a centralized list of tasks (rather than dozens of sticky notes) will help you remember what needs to be done and reduce your chances of forgetting to do something. A weekly calendar can provide you with just the place you're looking for. Many in online calendars provide sufficient means to take note of all your to-dos and you can easily move tasks from one day to another. Be sure to look for one that is printable so you can simply print a particular week to take it with you as you finish your shopping.

Track

It sounds so simple, but it is really very effective – check off the tasks you're done, you help make it more organized. How? This feeling of accomplishment you feel at the end of each day when you realize you've done makes it quite worth – and it also makes you more likely to continue to stay organized the day and the next day and so on, until you have more effectively managed your time each week. After all, better use of your time not only makes your life smoother and reduces your stress, but also lets you more time for fun.
