Georgia People-Please tell me about Tucker and Doraville, GA?
We are looking to move. Working in Chamblee, GA. What are Tucker, GA and Doraville, GA like? We want to know how the commuting would be to Chamblee? How are the towns? Are they suburban towns? Are they rich/medium/poor towns? Do you know about the school systems? Shopping? Crime? Housing-Is it more big mansions? Old ranches?
I am looking for personal experiances. I know I can look at census and crime info and local websites. I want your personal thoughts and experiances. Thanks!
That must be on the edges of Greater Atlanta, I’m guessing. Let me see… where you all from?
Oh ho, you’ll be in a much more densely populated part of Georgia, if not more “civilized.” According to Wikipedia, “The population was 26,532 at the 2000 census. Although central Tucker, also known as “Main Street Tucker”, is laid out as a planned “railroad town,” it has never been formally incorporated, thus all services such as fire, police, water, schools etc. are provided by the county. If incorporated, Tucker would be the largest city in DeKalb County, Georgia (excluding Atlanta which is mostly in Fulton County).”
Doraville? Never heard of it either… let’s see. Well, at least it has a MARTA station. That’s the mass transit. It’s pretty good. Well, I’ll just say be careful of gangs, drug dealers, and the usual big city crime. Otherwise, enjoy living in Atlanta.
