Have you seen “I Am Legend”? If so, what did you think?
Personally, I thought it was one of the most breathtaking and mindblowing films I’ve ever seen. Will Smith deserves an Oscar and a Golden Globe for such a brilliant performance. The movie is incredibly frightening, but mainly because of the strong sense of loneliness and being hunted by starving zombies.
The relationship that Smith’s character shares with his beloved German Sheperd, Sam, is beautiful, and ultimately heartbreaking. The camerawork is superb, amazing long shots of the deserted streets of New York City, overgrown with weeds and with broken down cars scattered everywhere. Lack of score makes the movie even more haunting, with the silence further conveying the sheer dread of the situation.
The monsters, if not a little unrealistic, are spine-chillingly scary in their unrelenting desperation to feed. They are the stuff of nightmares.

I thought I Am Legend was an amazing film, I mostly see Will Smith in non serious roles, and I was amazed that he could perform this well in a serious film. Will Smith definitely deserves some awards. The movie was definitely a well developed movie for its short playtime.
