Would you commute for an hour and half to 2 hours of a £30,000 job?
Say the monthly rail fare would cost around £350.And a drive by car would be a distance of 80 miles and would take an 1 hour 30 mins. I dont know how much petrol would cost for that weekly.
Is this a realistic commute for someone who wants to work?
I know people who commute further for that amount of money, so it is realistic. But consider other factors, such as seeing your children (if you have any) and your partner, the area in which you will be working, if the trains will be busy or if the roads will be congested. If you take the job and use public transport then consider taking some form of entertainment, such as a laptop, DVD player or media player.
If the job is worth it, you might consider moving closer to work, if your circumstances permit.
Extreme Commuter: 8 hours every day
