Part of Chicago closest to Milwaukee?
Im going to be a college student next fall at uw-milwaukee but i wanna transfer to UI-chicago. i don’t want to pay out of state tuition so i figured ill get an apartment and job in chicago and commute to milwaukee until i can get in state tuition. Then ill
transfer to UI Chicago. I just want to know what are some safe and diverse neighborhoods that are close to the milwaukee area at the maximum an hour away?
Geographically sounds like you want Zion or Gurnee. Waukegan is the only “rough” area up that way though there are parts of Waukegan that I think are okay.
Another thought is to live close to an Amtrak Station and take that in. They have regular service between Chicago and Milwaukee. There are intermediate stations at Glenview IL and Sturvetant, WI. You could live in a far north burb and drive to Sturvetant. See below for more info.
