commute nyc to stamford
How’s the MetroNorth commute like from Stamford, CT to Grand Central NYC in the mornings?

Are there still seats left on the Metro North or is it an all standing ride. How long does it normally take?

Stamford is usually the last stop before 125th ST. and GCT for trains originating in New Haven. Local trains also originate there, making stops west of Stamford (Greenwich, Rye, Port Chester, etc.). If you want to get on a local, you can get a seat very easily. Trip time is 35-40 minutes.

A few AM trains make limited stops prior to Stamford. Train 1819, for example, stops only in South Norwalk, Stamford and GCT. It departs Stamford at 7:21 and arrives in GCT at 8:09. It’s fairly easy to get a seat on that train.

There’s a complete timetable in PDF format on the MTA website. Follow the link below for more info.
