Length of ride from SF to Fresno?
How long would it take me to drive from San Francisco to Fresno?
I’m moving to S.F. next year and have a job offer in Fresno. Would it be some outrageous amount of time in the car if I wanted to commute?
I have no idea what freeways I would have to take, or what the traffic would be like. I’m even fuzzy about the distance between S.F. to Fresno, so if any natives could enlighten me, that would be great!

Commute driving time is 3 to 4 hours. You would take Hwy 101 south to 152 east to 99 south. You would be doing a reverse commute. People live as far away as Fresno and commute into the Bay Area. This is because the cost of housing. and quality of life is generally cheaper the farther out you live.
If you really have to live in SF, there are commuter flights that will do it in about an hour. Even going through security this could still save you 2 to 5 hours a day. What this time is worth to you with the cost of the flights vs the cost of driving is your call.
You would be better off moving closer to Fresno. The Sierra foothills are a nice area.
