How long does it take to drive from Kitchener/Waterloo area to Toronto (401 & Warden)?
I have to be at destination by 9am. When travelling to Toronto, I have always been a passenger never a driver. Because of my inexperience with Toronto traffic, I choose to err on the side of caution, therefore I would prefer to travel at a safe speed and arrive early. Also, any tips such as choosing the right lane, (Express, Collectors, etc) so as not to miss my exit – or anything else to make my commute safer for myself and those around me, would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you for your time.
torton rush hour starts at 7:30 latest. For REGULAR traffic, driving at round 110km/120 km, you are looking at about an hour 15 (trust me, i’ve been doing this for the past 3 years, goes to waterloo n my bf lives by warden n 401)
you want to stay on express on 401 for sure because there’s construction before you hit yonge’s exit.
to get there by 9am honnestly, i would leave at 6:30 on the safe side. Traffice gets really nasty by the time you hit Mississauga. If it does get really bad, get on the 407 (save you id say 30mins), (407 and 401 connect at a point) but 407 takes you up north so you would have to go back south on the 404. (takes bout 20mins from 407 to 401 during rush hour). if you do endu p taking the 401-407-404, exit on sheppard to get to warden, b/c the connection between 404 and 401 is really bad.
mapquest it while you follow this direction, it’s a lot easier than it sounds. hope i help.
