commuter connections
Help getting around a firewall.?

Ok, so I want to be able to use the school internet connection and be able to access blocked web pages. I know that one way to get around a firewall is to create a tunnel between the firewalled computer and a unfirewalled commuter. I was wondering if someone could help me set this up, I have an XP laptop with will be at school and an XP desktop at home.

Also i was wondering, I know that laptops can broadcast WiFi from a wired connection so that other laptops can access this connection, I was also wondering if this tunneled access could also be broadcast from the laptop so that all students could enjoy firewall free browsing.

So please, if you know how to set up a tunnel or a tunnel that can be broadcast, please help me set one up.

Ah, trying to get around the tracking and restrictions at school, and share it with friends….very sneaky.
What you’re looking for is a proxy server outside the school network. This will allow you to send your requests through that server instead of your schools server. The second part of your question relates to sharing your laptop’s internet connection. You wouldnt have to do this if you have the proxy server setup properly, everyone could use it independently. While you have a nice little underground project going, beware, the school’s IT department will probably notice the traffic going to your proxy server and shut down the connection.
