commuter rail boston providence
which train do you take to get to the city hall plaza in Boston?

I’m from Providence and I’ve been to Boston on the commuter rail but I was heading towards the house of blues. I’ve never been to the city hall plaza so I was wondering if anyone can help my friends and I out.

we’re going to taking back sundays free show there for Dew Tour, I would be there for the skate open but I’m more of a BMX fan that skateboading.

Thanks!!!
I’m coming from Providence into boston on the commuter rail so I’m guessing from south station. I thought I mentioned that…

City Hall Plaza is Downtown, on the Green Line at Government Center. However, there are several stations quite close to each other right there, it’s not worth switching lines. Just walk a block above ground. You’d wind up walking that amount underground anyway.

The train from Providence stops at South Station, which is on the Red Line. It also stops at Back Bay Station on the Orange Line. I’d get out at Back Bay. Go upstairs, walk over to the Orange Line, go downstairs, and take the first Inbound train to State Street. This is one block from Government Center.

OR: at South Station, take the Red Line Inbound to Park. Change for the Green Line, go one stop to Government Center.
