commuting allowance
Please rate the package – Saudi Arabia?

Hi,

I have been offered a job in Saudi Arabia with the following components:

a. Basic of SR10000 per month
b. Transport allowance of SR900 per month
c. House Rental allowance of SR30000 per annum payable on a monthly basis
d. Medical as per group medical program covering all members of the family.
e. 30 days paid leave per annum plus round trip economy class tickets once per annum for the family to home city.

We are family of three [myself, wife and daughter aged 2 years].

I would seek help to decide on this package with particular reference to cost of living, education cost, cost of commuting, accomodation cost and saving potential.

Please help.

Thanks in advance
I am from India and from the field of Accounts. I would like to know what will be the saving potential in this salary. Also what is the accomodation cost. Are the accomodation furnished and is monthly rent the norm out there or I need to pay rent for a period [3months/6 months]

hello!
I have worked in Saudi and the salary offered to u depends on what work u r currently doing and ur experince.
U have not provided these details.however the following is the broad idea:

1)A salary of 10,000 basic+900 transport allowance+2500 per month as rent allowance is “Good” but not very good if u r from the Technical field-mainly engineering field. An engineer would command a salry of 20,000SR per month.

2)if u r from Account/Marketing etc then this salary of Very good for u.

3)If u r from a Western country, then u r not going into a good country as far as social life is concerned.U will have a very restricted lifestlye and extremely orhodox and unwelcome society.

4)If u r from india/ east asian countries, then u may be able to live there comfortably, with lots of restrictions.

5)If u r a Non muslim be prepared for religious discrimination.

Rest as u say is Hope for the best and prepare for the worst!!

Keep ur family safe!
and Safety first in all things u do in Saudi!!

All the best!!
