I’m having a trip to NY, what is the best way to commute to from New York to Elizabeth, New Jersey?
I will arrive at Philadelphia, and stay for a couple of days, from there i will go to Elizabeth, New Jersey beacuse i already have a place to stay in there, so I will like to go to new york city, what would be the best way to commute to new york? and fron philadelphia to Elizabeth, NJ??
- The IKEA shuttle is a nice suggestion… IKEA is located in Elizabeth NJ. If you can drive there, and take a shuttle, but the shuttle bus is really for NY people to shop in IKEA, it may have limited schedule.
- Driving to NY is OK for the weekend. If you are visiting NYC with 3~4 people, it may be cheaper to pay for the Parking and toll comparing to train/bus ticket. Drive to NYC pay toll $6 and find a daily parking around $15, still use subway to travel inside the city. For Driving at the weekday is not recommended (too many traffic.)
- Path does not reaches Elizabeth, but it is still not a bad idea to drive to Hoboken, Journal square or Newark to take path. It is the best way if you have a friend who can drop off and pick up you from path station to Elizabeth (Path info: http://www.panynj.gov/CommutingTravel/path/html )
- Train / Bus – this will bring you to 34th street or 42nd street in NYC. I remember the bus#113 stops at Elizabeth, and there are 2 train station in Elizabeth. If you stay close to a train/bus stop, it will be good for you. (http://www.njtransit.com for details)
