Where is the best place to move?
My boyfriend and I are looking to relocate from VA to NC. He has a job offer in Wilson, NC (Of course we wouldn’t live there). I am a RN and have the sky as my limit as far as a job goes. I have been researching Wake med in Raleigh. It appears to be a possible great opportunity. However, I am having quite a time trying to find somewhere to live between both cities. We both don’t mind commuting. Also we need an area that is kid friendly. We have a 4 year old and 17 month old between the two of us. So we need good area, schools, activities and…you get the drift. I ask for advice from those who Truly know. I also need to know how much nurses get paid in the area. Every website I look at are quoting #’s from a year to 2 years ago. Thanks a mill. Please, Please help.
There really isn’t much between Raleigh and Wilson…mostly tiny towns that are hardly worth looking at.
I’d say try to find a nice neighborhood on the eastern side of Raleigh (along US 64 Business/New Bern Ave corridor) and he can easily commute to Wilson from there. (55-65 minutes depending on speed. Luckily, he’d be traveling the opposite of the heavy traffic flow.) WakeMed is in the eastern half of Raleigh so that’d help you, too.
