commuting rule
Do you think its fair that Libby’s prison sentence was commuted by Bush?

By Bush commuting Libbys prison sentence, doesnt that show a blantantly disregard for the rule of law. Libby was convicted of lying under oath and the penalty for perjury can be as severe as 20 years in prison but Libby got 2 1/2 years. I think that was fair. Alot of people say that he should not have been tried because he did not leak the name of the CIA agent therefore the sentence is unfair. But I say, does it really matter why he lied? The fact is he swore an oath to tell the truth, and then he lied. By Bush commuting the prison time, he is condoning his actions. Was Bush saying that the penalty of perjury is too severe or was he saying that this particular man doesnt deserved to be punished for whatever reason? That is the question people. Are you really okay with there being two sets of rules, one for the haves and one for the have nots? I personally am not okay with it and it makes me mad as hell that some people are. Besides, isnt this still America?

I had considered several weeks ago the idea of taking up an office pool to see *WHEN* the Bush admin would “pardon” Libby, because it was a dead certainty that something like this wold come along.

well, it wasn’t a “pardon” , but it was expected.

corrupt? sure

expected? sure

Clinton lied about getting a blow job, not about statrting a disastrous “war” that killed thousands of Americans and cost a trillion dollars and

accountability ???

ethics??
