What is traffic and parking really like in San Francisco?
I will be commuting to Palo Alto everyday for work. I’m trying to live closer to the freeway (SOMA?). The trip should take like 45 minutes with no traffic. How plausible is that time if I’m traveling normal hours: 8am and 5:30pm? Also, what is street parking like?
Depending on where your going, why not consider taking Caltrain from SFO to Palo Alto? Good schedules all day – especially in rush hour – and you can get good, frequent public transportation at both ends. Look here for information:

And, if you have a bike, you can ride it to and from Caltrain and take it with you on the train. Palo Alto is especially bike friendly.
