commuting to dc
How long is the commute from Leesburg to DC?

I have to work in Frederick, MD and Falls Church, VA equally. On the map it appears Leesburg is right in the center. It is also much more affordable than the DC area. I know my communte to Frederick, MD will be easy however, I’m concerned about how long it will take for me to get to Falls Church VA. Mapquest of course tells me only 40 minutes but I’m sure you know the truth. I’ve never lived anywhere on the east coast so I have no idea what traffic is like. It is only 25 miles away my question is how long will it take me to get through that 25 miles on HWY 7? Is there a better place than Leesburg that is easy commute to Frederick, MD and DC? Please recall, Leesburg is amazingly affordable when compared to living at Falls Church.

Loudoun County offers a commuter service from the Park and Ride at 110 Catoctin Circle SE to Rosslyn and downtown DC. It takes an hour to take the route to Rosslyn, and a few trips to the West Falls Church Metro take 50 minutes. If the bus timetable calls for a 50-minute journey, expect the drive to take about the same. This is using the Dulles Toll Road and I-66, the latter of which has an HOV-2 carpool restriction during rush hour.
