What rail services are available between Richmond, VA and Washington DC?
Looking to locate somewhere between the two cities and want to commute by rail to DC.
Amtrak is one option but will be a pricey commute. Check the VRE system map— Virginia Railway Express— it doesn’t get that close to Richmond but from there are commuter bus services operating from several of the stops that will complete your trip to Richmond. Also you can pay for your VRE fares using MetroChecks, which is a pretty common perk for employees in the DC area (check with your HR folks) and you can’t always use those for Amtrak fares.
