What is it like to work in DC and live in Baltimore? Would you recommend this? Why or why not?
I am considering moving to Baltimore from Gaithersburg. Since I work in DC, I worry about the commute being even longer than what I have now.
I think you’ll find the drive to be just as bad as from Gaithersburg if not worse, depending on where in the Baltimore area you decide to live. Many commuters from Baltimore to DC use the MARC train–the ride is about an hour from either Camden or Penn stations in Baltimore to Union Station in Washington, but you have none of the driving headaches and you can get stuff done on the train, or just kick back with your iPod and newspaper.
This option is especially effective if you live close to one of the MARC stations and your job isn’t too far from Union Station. Good luck!
