commuting to college vs dorming?
I am currently a freshmen at the City College of New York, and commute to school. There are dorms there called the towers, and its for only like 600 students out of 12000 undergrads. I feel like the college experience is really crappy not living in a dorm, and barely knowing anyone, and kind of starts getting me depressed. I am considering of maybe dorming here which the chances I think are slim or go to another school that is known for campus housing. I do not want to worry too much about loans in the future, and want to be at least around the NYC area. I also want a school known for a good computer science major. I was thinking of maybe a SUNY school. What should I do if I feel that commuting isnt really me for the next 4 years?
If you want to stay local, you could check out Queens College (CUNY). I understand they are becoming a dormitory school and may already have their dormitory set up. It is one of the only CUNY schools that offer dorm living (that I’m aware of).
