Isn’t GM dexcool antifreeze supposed to be environmentally friendly and biodegradable?
I have a 99 Pontaic Grand AM GT. Last week it leaked Dexcook on a city street and had to be towed. I later received a bill for $200 from the city that I broke down in for clean up of “transmission fluid”. This was not transmission fluid, and I am thinking of fighting the bill, especially if it is true that dexcool is environmentally friendly. Please help me out. I already spent a ton of money to fix my car, I don’t want to have to pay a bill to clean it up too!
You need to check into what the law on that issue relates to and if it refers to any fluid left by a vehicle or specific fluids. Usually they will not specify a specific fluid and leave it open for anything that leaks from your car. You’ll need to have that information before you can fight it.
Dexcool may be biodegradeable, but it is still poisonous to animals and can kill them.
Good luck.
