What do Streetcars, (‘TTC’ in particular) and subway cars run-on? Is it environmentally-friendly?
Streetcars and subways run on electricity, and in Ontario some of that electricity is from coal, though the government says it is trying to shut down all the coal-fired plants. The trouble is that there isn’t enough hydro/nuclear/solar/wind generating capacity in Ontario to satisfy all the demands, so we sometimes have to import it from other places.
