good commuter motorbike
Why aren’t motorbikes promoted as a greener alternative to cars? Wouldn’t it be a good marketing tactic?

I never see advertisments for motorbikes on television, and all I see is advertisments for cars. Motorbikes are more dangerous, but mainly because there are too many car drivers around that are ignorant of motorcylists. Why don’t I see enough variety of sensible commuter bikes being advertised to the general public? All the hype is around little scooters, cruisers, and sportbikes. What about just general purpose motorcycles for everyday transport?

That’s an excellent question. Besides the fact that gasoline motorbikes get excellent gas mileage compared to cars, there’s already a fleet of electric motorbikes out there. Some are scooters with limited speeds, and some can reach highway speeds. Perhaps marketers think the motorbike crowd is mainly kids who want to live fast and dangerously. But there are plenty of electric motorbikes out there for every need. They make the commute more fun, as well as greener and cheaper. And when you ride one, they are eyecatching and people always are full of questions about your vehicle.
