Taxes: My job relocated me to an office +50 away but I live at the same place. What is deductible?
So, my job closed our home office and required me to drive +50 to another office or be laid off. I live in the city and borrow a vehicle from a friend daily but pay maintenance and gas for the drive. Is fuel or working repairs deductible? I am hoping there is some way to recover some of the high cost of the unanticipated commute…. pls help! thx!
Sorry, but nothing is deductible in your situation. The miles are still commuting miles, which are never deductible.
