What can I do if I absolutely can not go to arraignment court (in another state) Please read details?
I live in NYC. I received a letter from the Massachusetts Court stating I must submit to an indictment in Boston next Monday. It is a non-violent crime (and false) accusation. I have absolutely no way to get there. I tried for weeks to understand how there … ask friends, display "ads" on Craigslist Rideshare, begging, etc. Nothing has come through. I been unemployed for 4 months and not have any money. I live on foodstamps and crashed on couches. I will not go into all the trouble with the law in not showing to the court, but I seriously no way to get to Boston on or by Monday. Can I call the court and let them know my situation? Is there anything I should do? Any help you can give is greatly appreciated. Well Christ, I want all this week to find a way to get there!
You've had ample oppty inform the authorities of Boston to your dilemma and failed to do so. Consequently, you may end up with a charge of contempt, and more offense, and have almost given up all the discretion of the court had mercy on the facts. Expect the thrust of the law to explode like a punch in the face Irish unless you can convince atty talking to authorities in Boston in your name! … And … Oh, look. It's the weekend.
