aah which one is really really cheap to take in yonkers,NY to Bronx Comm.college?Bus or train?I asked some questions on getting cheap and convenient transportation to BCC and am getting so much confused. Some on the yahoo answers tell me train(metro north card) is cheaper and more convenient, others tell me the bus or beelines as in yonkers is much cheaper, which one is very true and which one is cheaper? Please tell me the truth on what to do and how to get the cheapest means of commuting to-and- fro to BCC.Am really on a very tight finances so please tell me how to get the most convenient and most affordable(cheap) form of commuting. Please tell me the available price to.

Actually, I did see the first question. I happen to live right next to Riverdale Avenue in The Bronx! Your SAFEST bet would be to take the BX9 bus over on Broadway (if you are WAAAY up on Riverdale Avenue nearing Getty Square than take the Westchester Bee-Line 1 or 2 bus down – they accept Metrocard – to 242nd Street) then transfer to the BX9 from there. Get the BX3 at 238th Street which will take you to BCC.

Here are your options.

1. Taking the BX9 transfering for the BX3 is $2.00

2. If you are using the Westchester Bee-Line and do 3 buses, it woud be $4.00 since you are transfering onto one bus and then have to pay the fare again for another bus.

3. If on the Bee-Line 1 or 2, you get out at 242nd Street/Van Cortlandt Park and then walk down a couple of blocks (not a far walk) to 238th Street to catch the BX3. The walk saves you $2 since you don’t have to catch a third bus.

NOW…if you have NO CHOICE but to be on Riverdale Avenue in Yonkers, take the Westchester Bee-Line 8 bus to the city line (Mt. St. Vincent). Walk down a little bit (past the Hyatt senior home) to get the BX10 bus. From there change for the BX3 at 238th Street (Bailey Avenue). Fare would be $4 because you would be using 3 buses.
