What is the best motorcycle to buy for commuting around a big city, with some but not lots of highway driving?
Suggestions for new and used models welcome
Right now, my favorite city bike is a Suzuki DL1000 V-Strom. It has amazing power and handling, and is light enough to move quickly when needed.
On Interstate highways or for long distances, I prefer the BMW K1200LT. It’s a big bike with full fairing that gives good wind and rain protection, and also it is highly visable to other drivers on the road. It also helps that the local police motor patrol officers use BMWs. (cage drivers are not as likely to cut you off if they think you might be a cop!)
