NYC – Holland Tunnel – what time is it most congested during AM rush hour?
We are planning on going to the city tomorrow (Fri in Aug) via the Holland Tunnel. If we leave at 8AM, we would hit the tunnel around 9AM. How bad is the traffic during this time? Would we be better off waiting to leave later? Are there any good websites that give an overview of commute times (not real time)? (I know public transportation is optimal but with 2 small kids, strollers and lots of gear – we are definitely going to drive this time.) Thanks!
My friend, you may get stuck in traffic at about 9am as most drivers from NJ are still on the road at that time.
For traffic information, may I recommend the link below. It will give you the latest information on traffic in the New York City Metro Region. This site also has real time traffic cameras on the major roads in the area.
