Does anyone here go to Ohio University in Athens?
I was accepted and he is 3 and 1 / 2 hours drive from my house. I'm from Pittsburgh and I'll go but it really scares the pants off me to be away from my mother for an amount so long. She agreed to pick me up every six weeks is so long. I am so afraid for him. I plan to go to Pitt Greensburg, because it 45 minutes from my house but I hated it. I would then transfer to next year, but Ohio u there is no guarantee me in. as a student transfer. Does anyone go there? Do you like it? There carpool to Pittsburgh? Ride board.com I know but I have nothing seen to go home until next February. thank you
Looks like you have not been away from home for some time, which contributes certainly your fear of going to school. Relax. It's not as bad as you think it will be. In fact, I recommend strongly to your mother she does not let you come home for at least 6-8 weeks. You just need a few weeks to get used the new environment, meet new people, and find your comfort zone. Do not go home over Labor Day weekend. It is an ideal time to meet others because you have some spare time and classes have not been too involved yet. I met several of my closest college friends this weekend. Take the time to meet your neighbors in the dorm and check out some student clubs and organizations. It'sa great way to meet people with similar interests and can help you feel more comfortable and "at home" there. As for return at home (not too often!), you may be able to find a way local board at the Student Union or elsewhere on campus. Heck, you could Pennsylvanians even have some in your classrooms or a dormitory that would be good for one lap.
