When visitng Cape Cod, what is the best transportation around?
Should we rent a car? oris there any public transport ? what is the best way to move around cape cod? thank you
Actually, there is one option other than renting a car…but only one. There are 2 boats that leave from Boston Harbor (high speed and a more leisurely, cheaper one) that go to P-town. For the most part, everything is walkable in Provincetown. So, if you need to rely on transportation other than a rental car you can still do the Cape, it will just be extremely limited. You can do it as a one day trip or stay over.
That said, if you can rent a car, that is by far the best way to go. It it would be a shame to be limited to just Ptown when there is SO much more to see and do on the Cape. And if there is any way you can plan it so you are driving on/off Cape not on a Fri or Sunday you will have a FAR more pleasant trip. The traffic can be brutal. Anyway just wanted to let you know you did have one a choice. But a car is by far the better one!
