Is it worth it to buy a car in Germany or just use public transportation?
Im being stationed in Germany and I wanted to know if it would be worth it to bring a car, buy a car down there, or just use public transportation?
I am going to be there for two years at most and one year at least depending on if I get deployed from there or not.
That would depend on..
* how long will you be there for
* how much use would your car have
*how frequent is the public transport
for example are you in a rural/urban area
*are there places you might like to visit on time off
that are not serviced regularly
* the cost of taxing, insuring, running a car in ratio to the usage
Considering all of the above…a car does allow you a freedom which public transport does not.
