How is the public transportation system in Houston?
Just need it to get to HCC and back (probably SW or Central campus).
Simple, safe, fast? What are the people like that use it?
Just want to feel secure cuz I’ll be alone and repeating the same trip every few days….Thanks!
Hi everyone & thanks. Ok, the apartment my bf got today is just 1 mile from the SW campus, so not too far at all. Wish he could just drop me off, but he’d be gone hours before I get ready for class. So it seems a bus ride wouldn’t take too long, maybe I can even ride a bike there (I don’t know where people keep their bikes, tho)
I’m live in Detroit, so I think I’ll be alright when I get there ^_^ I also just returned from living in Philly where you definitely have to get to know the public transit system. But I don’t want anything to happen that I can avoid, so getting a heads up on the system is helpful. Thanks again!
Well there is transportation all over Houston, wether it be a bus, the rail, or taxi. I had to take the bus home for one semester and it wasn’t that bad it was just really hot outside thats all. I went to HCC central and then I would take the Rail to downtown and then wait for about 20 min. for my bus to show up. It is simple and fast and it can be safe if you don’t feel comfortable sitting with someone else just put your bag on the chair next to you until you see a woman so she can sit next to you. Just bring a CD player or something else to listen to because sometimes the rides can take a while depending on where your going. Look to be honest I don’t know if you feel secure, because i don’t know what kind of person you are, but your going to have to get used to it, because thats how life is. All im saying is don’t be scared to ride the bus, I wasn’t…. bye
