Please Help if you live near Long Beach, CA or Buena Park, CA?
I wan to go to Knott’s berry farm located in Buena Park, but I’m flying to california and I will be using public transportation. what airport should I fly to, Orange county airport or Long Beach and wich one is closer to Knott’s berry farm and what bus do I take. please if you are a local and take the bus around that area, help me…..
Long beach airport is your best option! I live in the area. All the teens on my block have Knott’s season passes and during summer vacation. It’s not uncommon for them to go 3-4 days per week. The trip takes them about 30-45 minutes by bus depending on the time of day they go. But, in late afternoon it can take about an hour. They all take the Long Beach Transit bus (191) and connect to the Orange County Transportation Authority bus (38). Starting from the Long Beach Airport, you will start on the Long Beach Transit bus (103), but that’s the only difference. Long Beach Airport is 3 miles from the Lakewood Mall.
Take LBT bus 103 from the Long Beach Airport to The Southeast corner of Lakewood Blvd and Del Amo Blvd (Lakewood Mall is your landmark here) The bus stop is across Del Amo, from the JC Penny’s/parking lot
From the Southeast corner of Lakewood and Del Amo board the LBT bus 191. Exit this bus on the Southwest corner of Del Amo and Pioneer (Ralph’s supermarket/Del Taco is your landmark)
From the Pioneer/Del Amo stop, board the OCTA bus 38. Exit this bus on the corner of La Palma Ave and Beach Blvd. Knott’s Berry Farm is on this corner.
The cost for your bus journey should be about $3.05. Long Beach Transit fares average 90 cents. OCTA runs about $1.25
It’s worth noting that Del Amo Blvd and La Palma Ave are the same street. But Del Amo Blvd changes it’s name to La Palma Ave at the Los Angeles/Orange County border (Which is Denni Street)
As for which airport is closer to Knott’s. Long Beach Airport is 14 miles from Knott’s Berry Farm. John Wayne Airport is 20.1 miles from Knott’s. (according to google maps) Also, Long Beach Airport is not nearly as congested as John Wayne is. If you can get a flight into Long Beach, do it. You will not be sorry you did.
