
What’s the best way to get from Hyde Park to River Forest (Chicago)?
The boyfriend’s going to University of Chicago, and I’m trying to get into a program at Dominican University in River Forest. I grew up in a podunk town, and I go to school in Killadelphia where the transportation is primitive, to put it nicely. Anyway, I’m not sure how to read the bus maps since I’ve never been on one.
Could somebody with knowledge of Chicago’s public transportation give me an idea how I would do this commute? And how much it would cost for a round trip?
There are 3 suggested routes from RF to UC. All start out with a PACE bus #318 that you can board on North Av….1/2 mile north of Dominican U. This takes you to the green line train which you will take to UC. The last part….CTA bus to the UC campus goes through some iffy territory.
