San Jose, California vs Phoenix, Arizona?
I would like to know how both of them compare in terms of
1) Public Transportation – assume I don’t have a car, don’t know how to drive and cannot ask anybody for rides. How dependable is the public transportation for day to day commuting?
2) Salaries – for Technology jobs
3) Cost of Living
4) Weather
I lived in San Jose California for a long time. Public Transportation Includes: Caltrain, (VTA) Valley Transportation Authority Lightrail, VTA Busses and more. The transportation is very reliable. Weather is better than San Fransisco with an average temperature year round of 65-70 degrees Fahrenheit. San Jose is one of the most expensive places to live in the United States according to what i have read on Yahoo! reports, but It is also rated as one of the highest salaries in the United States. Technology jobs are not hard to find in San Jose, this is because they are in the heart of the Silicone Valley. If you don’t find what technology jobs you are looking for in San Jose there are many technology based companies in nearby cities in towns. Yahoo! is a perfect example they are in Sunnyvale, Hewlett-Packard is in San Jose, and so is Cisco Systems. I do not no much about Pheonix, Arizona. What i do know from a friend in Yuma, Arizona is that it is very hot. They move from Yuma, Arizona to Grants Pass, Oregon to Washington state and back to Yuma in the winter. They do not stay in Yuma because they are retired and are senior citizens that can not take the heat of Arizona in the summer. So I assume that the weather is very hot in the summer. I don’t know about public transportation, technology jobs or salaries, or the cost of living. Overall for a technology based job I would stick to somewhere in the Silicone Valley, San Jose and that area if you are looking for good salaries, weather, and public transportation. ~~I Hope This Helps~~
