Which part of Phoenix do you recommend living?
My family (me, my husband and baby) are seriously considering moving to Phoenix next year and were wondering where in Phoenix would be the best to live. We are non-denominational Christians and I personally would not be fond of living around a lot of Mormons. (I saw somewhere that there is a mostly Mormon area.)
Outside of that we just want the lowest crime area and maybe some public transportation could be nice but not necessary.
Let me know your favorite spot.
I would appreciate at least some small details on why you like this particular spot please.
Steven C. I meant I didn’t want to be around a LOT of Mormons, not that I didn’t want to be around any. People can choose which religion they like but Mormons added books to the Bible and stuff….so yeah…I dunno that just bugs me a bit. I just heard there were a few more congested areas of Mormons so that’s why I even mentioned it.
Everything depends on your budget. If money is not a problem then you can live anywhere like Paradise valley, Scottsdale where houses are over a million.
If you are looking for something modest but in a well located area. You might want to consider central corridor in Phoenix.
I personally set my limits to inside the freeways. What I mean is look in a map and you will see I-17, I-51, I-101 and I-202. I live inside of that box that they have. That is zip codes 85020, 85016 , 85013.
Do not go west of 1-17 since that is consider the west and crime is very high, Do not consider south phoenix, same thing about crime. You can consider north of 101 but it is far away, and you can consider east of 51 but commuting is bad.
The worse thing is to commute an hour. The freeways are ALWAYS packed during rush hour.
About Mormons, the area is call Mesa. That is a city of Mormons.
Look at this zip codes: 85013, 85014, 85021, 85020. You might want to get a condominium instead of a house.
Last thing avoid Maryvale area that is the highest crime area.
Good Luck.
