What’s the easiest way to get to Richmond, VA from DC metro by public transportation?
Many people use the train. Amtrak runs about eight trains each day between Washington and Richmond. On the north end, you can get on Amtrak at Washington Union Station, or at King Street station in Alexandria–both are easy connections between Metro and Amtrak. In Richmond, there are stations at Staples Mill Road (a suburb of Richmond) and downtown at the restored Main Street Station.
Amtrak currently has some discount prices in effect between Washington and Richmond.
