Can anyone recommend a cheap hotel, hostel or B&B in Rome that is in a safe area with public transportation?
Traveling with some friends and we’re staying in Rome for 2 nights- arriving via plane at Fiumicino airport and departing via train from Termini station. We’re looking for somewhere cheap ($50/night per person or less) in a safe area that has access to public transportation from airport, to main attractions and to the train station. We’re not big on night life so we’d prefer something quaint and quiet.
Last summer I stayed at the City Guest House, it was pretty reasonable, a decent breakfast is provided, it’s safe and has good transport links. It’s about a 8 minute metro ride from the city centre, and 20 minute drive from Rome Ciampino airport. Staying somewhere a bit out of the centre of the city tends to be a lot cheaper, and pleasanter. Hope you have a great trip – I wish I was going again!
