public transportation to laguardia airport
Travelling From LaGuardia Airport to Tribeca?

I have a question for all the New Yorkers out there:

What is the best method of public transportation to get from LaGuardia Airport to Tribeca?

Thanks!

Since there is no subway access to and from LGA. This route will take a bus and a subway. Here is how to get to Tribeca.

Step 1: take the M-60 bus from the terminal to the Astoria Blvd subway station.

Step 2: at the Astoria Blvd subway station, transfer upstair (station is elevated) to a Manhattan-bound “N” or “W” train (Yellow Line). Take either train to 42nd Street-Times Square.

Step 3: at 42nd Street Street-Times Square, transfer upstairs to the downtown (southbound) #1, 2 or 3 trains (Red Line). Follow the signs that says “1, 2, 3, A, C, E, S (42nd Street Shuttle)”. Take either the 1, 2 or 3 train downtown to Chambers Street.

Step 4: when you exit the subway, you’ll be in Tribeca.

Now, there is one thing to mention. To my knowledage, LGA does not have MetroCard Vending Machines, so make sure you have exact change for the bus. NYC buses do not take dollar bills and the driver has no access to dollar bills. The fare is $2 one way. When you get to the Astoria Blvd subway station you can perchase a 1-day pass for $7 or, if you’re here for a week, a 7-days pass for $24. These pass will give you unlimited rides on the subway and the bus.

I hope this information was very helpful. If you need any travel direction while in town just drop me a line by clicking the Avatar and the e-mail icon in the profile.

Good luck and happy travels.
